Isolation of trace formulae and application to automorphic periods

Abstract: In this talk, we introduce some recent results on the isolation of spectra in the trace formulae, followed by applications in the study of some automorphic periods, namely the Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture. This is a joint work with Raphaël Beuzart-Plessis, Wei Zhang, and Xinwen Zhu.
